Local guide

Miraflores sits on the cliffs above the Pacific. Most of what you will want is walkable from the apartment, and the rest is a short taxi ride. Here is where we send our own friends.

Along the cliffs

The malecón is a chain of clifftop parks running the length of Miraflores. Walk it at sunset from Larcomar to Parque del Amor, and watch the paragliders launch off the edge when the wind is right.

Eat

Lima is one of the great food cities. Have ceviche at lunch, the way locals do, and save an evening for one of the tasting menus the city is known for. Book those weeks ahead.

Barranco

Next door to Miraflores, Barranco is the city’s art and bar district: colourful old houses, galleries, the Puente de los Suspiros and plenty of good places for a pisco sour.

Huaca Pucllana

A pre-Inca adobe pyramid in the middle of Miraflores. Take the guided tour, then stay for dinner on the terrace as it lights up at night.
